For our Headquarter in Mendrisio, we are looking to hire an extremely motivated and high driven Application Engineer / Service Engineer to join our Customer Support team.

YOUR KEY RESPONSABILITIES WILL BE

As Application Engineer you will provide first line and onsite technical support to our customers, and support pre-sales activities such as demonstrations, evaluations, benchmarking exercises, as well as provide expertise on best practice with our systems. You will also collect and report customer feedbacks and test eventual solutions before deployment. You will also be capable to provide solutions within the existing application tools. The role requires availability to travel worldwide. Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Technical support for both internal and external customers in the areas of product selection and application.
  • Develop solutions for product applications.
  • Provide content for the development and updating of product literature.
  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
  • Communicate solutions for unique applications including design & special pricing.
  • Provide general product application support and find solutions to field application problems.
  • Understand requirements for challenging applications.
  • Debugging, testing, code improvement and re-designing tasks.
  • Organize and present training seminars internally and externally.
  • Conduct product DEMO and training.
  • High propensity to work in a team and expertise on travelling for service alone.
  • Provide all necessary support to customers to guarantee a greatest customer experience.

WE BELIEVE YOU HAVE

  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
  • + 3-5 years of relatable and demonstrable work experience in the same role.
  • Familiarity with Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Electronical, Optical and Software.
  • Knowledge of SMT, robotics and electronics manufacturing will be considered a plus.
  • Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. The knowledge of German and Spanish will be considered as an important plus.
  • Availability to travel worldwide for field commissioning and/or troubleshooting work.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. 
  • Effective communicator with strong public speaking/presentation aptitude (ability to engage with the audience).
  • High level of analytical proficiency.
  • Ability to cope with tight schedules.
  • Aptitude to work under pressure handling unexpected situations in the field.
  • Capacity to recognise, understand and work effectively within a range of different contexts and foreign cultures.
